What’s the song about?

The title reflects a subtle theme of beauty in a dystopian world — not that the song is explicitly about that, but that’s what was on my mind as I wrote it. I was choosing names that reflected a sort of anxiety in the world, and then using those names to contrast with very not-anxious-sounding music.

How did it come together in the studio/production?

It’s instrumental. It feels like a calm and pretty soundscape with synths and something that sounds like a flute or pipe. I built a lot of the song around those sounds, just because I liked them and how they made me feel.

Favourite moment in the track

I absolutely love the little pipe sounds. I could listen to them all day.

One thing listeners might miss

When the synthesizer comes in, it changes up the tone of the song a little bit. Before that it’s just some pretty melodies, but after it comes in… it feels like you’re driving along and feeling good.
